CSF leak repair explained: when is endoscopic treatment needed?

What clear nasal fluid may mean, how CSF leaks are confirmed, and when endoscopic repair is considered.

A cerebrospinal fluid leak may appear as persistent clear nasal discharge, salty postnasal drip, or recurrent meningitis-like illness in the right clinical setting.

Diagnosis requires careful confirmation because not all watery nasal discharge is CSF. Testing, imaging, and endoscopic review help determine the source and the risk involved.

Selected leaks may be suitable for endoscopic repair, but planning depends on the site of the leak, underlying cause, and surrounding anatomy.
